Happy Boston Marathon Monday, everyone! I have two friends running in it and I'm obsessively tracking them on my phone. I wish they updated these tracker things more frequently. So much can happen between 30k and the finish. That's a lot of miles at the end of a lot of miles.
It's super hot today in Boston. So I'm worried. I'm going to distract myself by talking about what I'm distracting myself with, which is The Voice and whether or not pirates were violent because they liked violence or violent because they wanted to make money to buy more rum.
Actually I'm not going to talk about that second thing at all because the answer is so glaringly obvious it's not really worth discussing.
But that doesn't mean I'm not watching it. I watched three episodes of the Biggest Loser this season before I finally admitted it was awful and started removing it from the queue without watching. I don't give up on things I love.
I want this guy, Jamar Rogers, to win.
I'm posting the non-performance pieces because it's The Voice, so the idea is that you can only hear them.
I just really like his voice. I don't have like a 12-point dissertation on why he's the best. I just like what he does with his vocal chords. He's Team Cee Lo because Cee Lo was the only one who picked him. Because all of the other coaches don't know WTF to do with AWESOME.
My second choice is Jordis Unga. I saw Jordis back when she did Rockstar: INXS in 2005 when she was 22 years old. I think it's a good thing she didn't win that show, because INXS wasn't going anywhere and Jordis wouldn't have fit with them at all.
She's 29 now, and her voice has really gotten better.
So there you go. The two people who will get very close to winning and then manage to get beaten by Lindsay Pavao and that gospel singer guy whose name I can't be arsed to remember.
